The Costa Brava is the stretch of Catalan coast from the French border in the north to the seaside village of Blanes in the south and has been largely unspoilt by mass tourism. This iconic coastline of small sandy bays and rocky headlands covered in pine and oak forests is protected not just by law and the national parks, but passionately looked after by the people that live here whether they be native Catalans or foreign nationals that have decided to make this beautiful land their home. Just 3.5km from the coast, the Villa is situated in the foothills of the Gavarres National Park, we have the Garroxta Volcanic National Park an hour to the north and Montseny National Park an hour to the south. Throughout this region there are megalithic stone monuments, some of the best preserved Greek and Roman ruins in Europe, Bronze and Iron age settlements, Castles, Napoleonic forts and perfectly preserved medieval villages. The best time to visit Catalunya is from September to February when the temperatures hover in the mid teens and allow you to walk around comfortably. Throughout the year we are out and about and post photographs and details of our trips on Facebook and Blogger. We highly recommend that you make use of these sites to plan your holiday or contact us for more details.
