The Villa is situated just 3 Km from the coast in the Gavarres Hills overlooking the medieval village of Calonge and has sea and mountain views. The village has shops, supermarkets and bars for all daily needs. The nearest beach town is St Antoni de Calonge positioned on a wide 7km sandy beach in between the larger towns of Palamós and Platja d'Aro both of which have a lively nightlife with bars, clubs and restaurants.The nearest airport is Girona (30 minutes by car) and there are excellent public transport links. Due to the quiet and elevated position of the house, this property is not suitable for wheelchair users or people with special mobilty needs and a hire car is recommended.

Arriving by Bus: SARFA routes opperate regularly from San Pere (Barcelona North) to St Antoni de Calonge.

The Costa Brava region in Cataluña is famous for it's oak and pine covered hills, beautiful rocky coastline, small sandy beaches, culture, gastronomy as well as it's proud autonomous traditions. We are well placed for hiking the GR92 Coastal Path from the French Border to Barcelona and the Gavarres National Park can be accessed directly by foot from the Villa. The National parks of Garroxta to the north and Montseny to the south are just a few minutes away by car and access to the best beaches in Spain are just 3 kms away.

 Coastal Walks

Within a few km of Calonge there are the beautiful medieval villages of Pals, Besalú, Banyoles and Begur and the cities of Girona and Figueres all of which are well worth a visit with stunning views, great restaurants and bars. To the north, the ski slopes are only 2 hours away and are normally open from December to March. Direct from the front door by foot, you have access to hundreds of kilometers of well maintained hiking routes with breath-taking views of this beautiful part of Cataluña.

The Costa Brava boasts a number of good quality American standard golf courses. There is a secure storage compartment in the front of the house for all your golfing equipment. Full details and directions to these courses can be found in the "House Book". To get to the Villa from the North or the South by car, we recommend exiting the AP7 (toll road) at junction 9a and following the C65 to Palamós. From the AP7 exit, the Villa is approximately 30 minutes away.

To arrive by train from Barcelona International Airport, make your way to Terminal T2 and catch the shuttle train to Passeig de Gracia in Barcelona city centre. Then catch the Barcelona to Girona train and get off at Caldes de Malavella. From here you will need a taxi to the Villa which takes approximately 30 minutes. We recommend Taxis Marc, a local company from St Antoni.

From Girona Airport, the Villa is approximately 30 minutes away by car.
